Jw_cad is a free, lightweight 2D CAD application for Windows, widely used in Japan for architectural, civil engineering, and manufacturing drawings. It focuses on precise drafting essentials—clean linework, accurate dimensions, and reliable plotting—while remaining fast and easy to run on modest hardware. Jw_cad uses its own JWW/JWC file formats and supports DXF for data exchange, making it suitable for creating and sharing detailed plans without the overhead of full 3D CAD suites. The interface is primarily in Japanese, and the software is distributed as proprietary freeware.
